7 1960's REMODEL Ballard, WA

The owners of this two-floor 1960s rambler wanted to make their home feel more like their primitive cabin-by better connecting it to the surrounding landscape. As it originally stood, the ground floor contained the garage, unfinished shop and storage space, with living space on the second floor. Dyna changed this by lifting the second floor of the house to create higher ceilings and common living areas on the ground floor and bedrooms on the second floor. To integrate the indoor and outdoor space, a 9' tall sliding glass door on the first floor opens into the garden. Heated terrazzo flooring and custom cherry cabinets complete the update.
